CORRUPTION WAR-Nigerian Government Exposed Over Forex Fruad-Sanusi

Former CBN Governor reacts to President Buhari's Forex Policy. Sanusi who claims the Forex Policy makes make more Billionaires while more more Nigerians are going poorer.

Sanusi further threaterns President Mohammadu Buhari saying " If you run Nigeria aground, I will become opposition" SANUSI to BUHARI (This timeline is the only internet space  with A full text  of this speech - it is a damning REPORT CARD from one friend to the other!!! )

NO WONDER NIGERIANS  CANNOT FIND THE FULL TEXT OF SANUSI'S  SPEECH ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET.  IT HAS ROCKED THE FOUNDATIONS OF ASO VILLA. BUHARI IS SAID TO BE VISIBLY SHAKEN BY IT. THERE ARE RUMOURS OF A MAJOR SHAKEUP. SURPRISINGLY MY APC FRIENDS Imo Ebong, Akan Ebenezer, Dm Ovada, Mohammed Adamu, John Ogunlela, Bassey Mark Effiong, Anthony Edet, Eno Adams, Edim Asanaenyi, Monday Ekong, Aniedi Akpan and Edim Asanaenyi, have cunningly avoided posting this news, too much naked shocking truth - I guess!
I am glad not everyone is a blind follower. Sanusi is the diamond in the midst of this dross!!!

Opinion: When Jonathan was persecuting Mallam Sanusi I refused to join the PDP bandwagon to criticise  Sanusi. If I  criticised him it was because of how he handled the revelation of the missing  $20b from NNPC's  treasury, a figure that keeps fluctuating till this day.

Sanusi didn't have a problem with Jonathan, Diezani the Minister of Petroleum was his target , there was no love lost between the two.

Unfortunately it all went quite messy. Like the proverb says, "Anyone  trying to hit a servant hiding behind his master,  will end up hitting the servant's master and causing more problems  for himself"; and that's exactly what happened.

But I have always admired Sanusi,  we met several years ago on a BA flight to Nigeria from London, he was with the Governor of Gombe State. He was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, my habitual dress code. He was  casual - no formalities and very courteous. We spoke on issues concerning Nigeria  and I immediately liked his opinions. It doesn't take me time  to assess a man's character;  over the years I have not been wrong about Sanusi's patriotism. The text of his speech says it all.

In becoming a traditional leader, Nigeria may have lost one of it's finest brains. This is one Moslem Northerner i'll gladly give my vote to lead this country.

I have painstakingly pieced his speech together from several newspapers quotations. It is unbelievably acidic. These are direct quotes from his speech captured  from Daily Trust, Punch, Nation, Thisday, The Trent. Read the full txt below.

This text of his speech may not come in the right order, I had to piece the quotes together but it does give a guide into the emir's anger and frustration at Buhari, a close friend.

FULL SPEECH
I am  a friend of the present administration but if they decide to run Nigeria aground, I will become the opposition.

I will neither change nor be political by telling people what they want to hear. The truth is that there is nothing we are facing today that we did not know would happen. We made mistakes, many of them deliberate; we ignored every single warning.

“If you take a brand-new car and hand it over to a driver who doesn’t have a licence to drive it and you are involved in an accident, you can’t say you are surprised, unless you are some kind of an idiot.

“We should not just keep blaming the previous administration; we also made some mistakes in the current administration.

“They must retrace their steps. They have to retrace those steps all the way. We should not fall into the same trap we fell the last time when the government was always right. The bottom line is that if your policy is wrong, it means you must change it and nothing will make it right as it has to be changed.

“If this government continues to behave the way the last government behaved, it will end up where Jonathan ended.”

President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration may end up like the immediate past President Jonathan’s administration if it fails to retrace its steps on some policies.

Buhari  defeated Jonathan at the 2015 presidential poll in what was described as a total rejection of the Jonathan-led administration by Nigerians.

The failure of  Buhari-led government to create employment opportunities for “the over 80 million youths in the country, has made terrorism attractive to the unemployed.

Some policies of this government are bad for the economy,  Buhari must retrace his steps.

“The Ministry of Budget and Planning is the most important ministry. The ministry needs to think beyond the Federal Government plans on the way forward.

“The country has not been able to attract investment. We need to move from our present mode of investment.

“Lagos is the story of what Nigeria can do with itself. The country should not be obsessed with oil.

‘‘Those who want to break up the country because of oil should stop. Oil will soon be nothing. The world is already developing alternative sources of power.”

‘’The funny thing is that you did not stop borrowing; all you have to do is borrow the right amount and apply them to the right purposes. It doesn’t matter whether it is consumption spending or investment demand, the GDP will grow.

‘’Countries like Nigeria and Angola are among the lowest growing countries of the world, growing with the rate of Europe and Latin America. We are the worst performers in terms of investment.’’

‘’We can always talk of the policies of the previous administration and we talk of oil subsidy and how it turned people into oil millionaires. But we have created another set of millionaires since 2015 from foreign exchange.

The practice whereby Nigerian businessmen obtain dollars at official rate and resell at a higher rate at the parallel market is still continuing,
“We have created our own billionaires since 2015 from foreign exchange subsidy,” the emir said in a speech at 15th Joint National Council on Development Planning meeting held in Kano yesterday.

“For instance, when the CBN was selling dollar at N197 and people were buying at N300, if I sit down in my garden and pick up my phone I would have enough people to call in the industry to get 10 million dollars at officials rate and sell at N300 and make a profit of over N1bn and if I do that four times in a year, for doing nothing I would have earned N4bn.

“And people were telling us that this policy was to help the poor. We should not devalue because if we do the poor people would suffer.
“...People that were profiting from this were the ones telling the government that if you devalue people would suffer; meanwhile they all got the dollar at N197 and price their goods at N300.

“The poor paid the price of the devalued currency and the rich schemed up the profits and it went on for one year and we talked and talked and talked. “If the present administration continues to behave the way the immediate past government behaved, we will end up where Jonathan ended. You may not like it but that is the truth.”

You don't have to be an economist to know that any system that allows someone to make N1bn profit through a phone call without investing a kobo is a wrong system and unsustainable.

For every one billion dollars that was taken from the federation account and sold by the CBN at N197, the states have lost N100bn that can go into salaries, into agriculture and into healthcare.

At the same time the states are going back to borrow from the same government on the bailout when the government was selling its dollars to a group of people.

“What kind of economy are we running? Who is advising the government? I want know who is advising the government so that I can talk to the adviser.

“We didn’t have money, oil price has collapsed, avengers were blowing oil wells and the scarce dollars we had we are selling cheaply to some few individuals.”

Manufacturers have abandoned production and embarked on foreign exchange business at the expense of unemployment and local production.

It is unfortunate that while other countries are developing Nigeria has no ambitions as a nation, saying “Do we really love our country? Do we feel any shame when we see Malaysia that collected palm oil seed from us is now exporting palm oil?”

Nigerian public sector wage bills went up from N443bn in 2005 to N1.7trn in 2012, in 2010 when the government increased minimum wage to N18, 000, I personally protested because government would basically rely on borrowing to pay salaries and that would not be sustainable.

Nigeria is not all about oil since oil contributes only 15 per cent to the GDP, adding that if the entire Nigeria’s oil reserves were sold today, the proceeds would only add 1164 dollars per head compared to GDP per capital of 3,000 in 2016.

“So those that are making noise about oil should stop and those that are afraid about oil should stop. Oil is just a working capital ... that when we sell it we get the dollars that we can use to import. If we can have another source of working capital we can do without it.”

I commend the  FG for making some changes in the economic system including removal of wasteful subsidies, the country should rather subsidise in production not consumption.

Nigeria is spending 6-7 billion dollars per annum on fake subsidies and all the money goes to private jets, expensive jewelleries, and properties abroad and so on and so forth, noting that nothing goes to the economy.

Nigeria earned 16 billion dollars from the oil sector in 2011 but not a single dollar went to education, roads and or power sector. “Every dollar we earned in the oil sector went back to petroleum subsidy in 2011.”

FG should  focus on power generation and land reform as well in its effort to diversify the nation’s economy.

I am  a friend of the present administration but if they decide to run Nigeria aground, I will become the opposition. You are not good friends with government officials and don’t tell them the truth. I will continue to say the truth.”

There is an urgent need for the country to return to the drawing board and expand the economy through wise investment for the economic growth and development of the country.

“If we do not expand the economy through wise investment, we can end up in classical Malthusian situation.

In spite of the past experiences we had on our socio-economic challenges, this country is still making the same mistakes  we cannot process tomato paste.“Tomato paste is being imported from China. It is sad.

Pastor Adeboye Finally Speaks of the Death of RCCG Pastor Murdered in Abuja

The General Overseer RCCG finally express his stand on the death of his Pastor who was murdered in Abuja.

According to Adeboye who was preaching on the “Importance of Mercy,” said “I’m not looking for vengeance. I won’t listen to people asking me to seek vengeance.“I won’t pursue the case. That’ll be contrary to what she wanted.“She wanted them saved, not killed.“What will their killing do for me?,”.

Making an example out of the slain Mrs Elisha whom he said was not aware she won’t return home alive on that fateful day, the Ifewara-born cleric warned that the end of the age was imminent, hence the prevalence of vices all over the world.

He said the murdered evangelist finished well and was, no doubt, sitting at the right hand of her Saviour for whom she paid the supreme price.“Recently, some hoodlums went to murder my daughter in Abuja.“She was doing her morning cry that morning as she usually did, armed with a megaphone and her Bible.“An Imam was said to have sent some hoodlums to drive her away, but they did something else.“She didn’t know she won’t return home that day.“She finished well. She finished strong“What a beautiful way to go. She’s gone to be with the Lord,” he stated glowingly.

The man of God said that his joy was predicated on the fact that another soul was waiting for him in Heaven.“My joy is that she finished well and I have additional soul waiting to welcome me in Heaven when it is my time,” Adeboye noted.

Nigerian Army, Government Offices Owes PHCN N60 Billion Naira

The Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors says ministries, departments, agencies and the Nigerian Army are owing the Distribution Companies (DISCOs) N60 billion from 2015 to February.

Sunday Oduntan, the Executive Director of the group, said this on Tuesday at a news conference.

He said the army owed Benin DISCO N2.3 billion; Eko, N1.9 billion; Ikeja, N1.6 billion; Jos, N2 billion; Kaduna, N6.6 billion; Kano, N301 million; Port Harcourt, N1.3 billion and Yola, N435 million.

Mr. Oduntan said out of the N60 billion owed to the companies, army’s total debt stood at N15 billion. He expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, particularly with the army.

He pleaded with President Muhammad Buhari to assist the distribution companies to ensure that the army paid its energy bills.

According to him, power sector requires $40 billion to ensure adequate, reliable and stable power supply in the country.

He added that the companies had improved on their facilities by installing smart prepaid meters, taken customers’ enumeration and installing new technologies for adequate electricity.

Mr. Oduntan explained that the DISCOs had made adequate plans to ensure safety in the electricity industry, adding that the facilities in the sector could absorb new 10,000 megawatts, if generated.

He expressed concern that many customers did not want to pay their electricity bills, adding that this was hampering the sector.

Mr. Oduntan urged electricity consumers to settle their bills as this would help to develop the sector.

House of Rep sets to Fight Corruption for Buhari

Hard times await any politically exposed persons (PEPs) and those working in the private sector who indulge in any form of economic and financial crimes, as the House of Representatives is set to commence debate on a new legislation that seeks to establish specialised courts to try all economic and financial crimes.

The amended Bill to the EFCC Act, 2004 sponsored by Bassey Ewa, is already gazetted for second reading on the floor of the House of Representatives and also seeks to “provide for quick recovery procedures for stolen assets; implement active pursuit of cases, build capacity and improve trust and cooperation with foreign counterparts, as well as ensure adequate funding of the Commission.”

"As specified in the bill, corruption offences include: “bribery of national public officials, bribery of foreign public officials and officials of public international organisations; embezzlement, misappropriation or other diversion of property by a public official; trading in influence; abuse of functions; illicit enrichment; bribery in the private sector; embezzlement of property in the private sector and laundering of proceeds of crime.”

"In discharging its functions, the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, as encapsulated in the bill, is also expected to handle cases of bribery of by legal persons and bribery in the private sector.

With the proposed amendment to section 18 of the EFCC principal Act, “all convicted persons shall serve an imprisonment of a term not less than 20 years and have their ill-gotten property, accounts, or investment confiscated by the government” though there is provision for plea bargaining for any accused persons who accepts to refund the total amount standing in his/her name, who shall be convicted for not more than two years.

Meanwhile, any company found guilty of offenses under the Act, stand to be blacklisted for 50 years from doing business in Nigeria and have its assets and finances frozen.

Section 3(4) provides that any petitions against the EFCC chairman or any of its members of staff, from the public or private sector, shall be submitted to the National Assembly, and if upon investigation found culpable, a simple majority vote of members of the National Assembly is required in considering the fate of the chairman or any affected member.

While section 3(5) empowers the National Assembly to forward such recommendations to the Presidency for implementation, “if the President objects to the removal of the chairman or any affected members of the commission, he shall communicate in writing to the National Assembly, advancing reasons against the removal of the chairman or an affected member, within 30 days.

“However, a two-thirds majority vote of the National Assembly shall be required to veto the decision of the President for the affected member to be removed.”

The proposed bill also seeks for the amendment of section 12 of the EFCC principal Act, by providing for the appointment of a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, or its equivalent in the Nigerian Army, that will head the Financial Investigative Unit.

Meanwhile the Financial Investigative Unit (FIU) is empowered to “have access to all accounts and investigate any account” without complying with the Evidence Act, “provided that the investigation emanates from the Financial Investigative Unit.”

"The FIU can also access unconditionally, the bank accounts of individuals, public or politically exposed persons working or (who) had worked in any strategic position exposed to public funds; monitor cash transactions of all accounts in Nigeria, to determine inflow and outflow daily.”

"In a related development, Edward Pwajok, also seeks amendment of the principal Act of the Money laundering (Prohibition) Act, by defining ‘anonymous person’.According to the proposed amendment in section 25, “Anonymous account means an account that is opened in the name of a different person but used by the beneficiary of the transaction, in the account or person proven to be the real owner of the account.”

"It also seeks to define the numbered account as “an account that does not have an owner but numbers or other symbols are used to identify it.”

"It also seeks to amend Section 11(2b) of the principal Act by increasing the existing penalty from N10 million to “not less than N50 million”.

To ensure effective funding of the FIU by way of amending section 35 of the EFCC Principal Act, the bill provides that “ 0.1% of all contracts awarded by Federal Government shall be credited to the Commission to facilitate prosecutions, practitioner networks (global or regional Asset recovery), enforcement efforts to combat economic and financial crimes, and asset recovery.“0.1% of the internally generated revenue shall be credited to the fund of the Commission.

0.1% of the sums of money recovered from the looted funds,” section 8 of the amendment bill stated.

EFCC Recovers Over $200 Billion loots From Dubai

A Federal Government delegation, comprising of the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr.

Abubakar Malami; Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu and crack detectives from the anti-graft agency, yesterday, started comparing collated intelligence notes with their United Arab Emirates(UAE) counterparts on some Nigerian former Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).

This move is ahead of the repatriation of over $200billion stashed away by 7 former governors, 6 former ministers, a fleeing ex-presidential aide in form of cash and/or acquired properties in the UAE.

Implicated in this UAE loot saga are some of the aforementioned former public officers and about 5 chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) who have fat accounts in UAE and choice properties in Marina (Dubai), Bur Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

To this end, some mansions belonging to the former PEPs and their cronies or fronts may also be seized by the EFCC officials who arrived Dubai on Saturday. The Nigerian delegation went to UAE in line with an agreement with the Federal Government.

Recall President Muhammadu Buhari in January signed a “Judicial Agreement on Extradition, Transfer of Sentenced Persons, Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters, and Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal and Commercial Matters, which includes the recovery and repatriation of stolen wealth”.

Fayose Dares Buhari On State Of Emergency In Ekiti, Rivers

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, on Monday said any attempt by President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency in Ekiti or Rivers State would be resisted.

Fayose spoke with State House correspondents shortly after taking part in the economic retreat organised by the National Economic Council inside the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governor said he was aware that Buhari was planning a state of emergency in Rivers State over the bloody election rerun that took place in the state over the weekend.

He said he was also aware that the President had the same plan in stock for the people of Ekiti State. However he said if he went ahead with the plan, Buhari would be thought a lesson that power belongs to the people and not their leaders.

He said, “They have been insinuating that (state of emergency) too in Ekiti. We have been waiting for them. Power has gone beyond the leaders; power has gone back to the people.“You want to declare state of emergency, declare it and we will tell you that the state of emergency will not work too. This country belongs to all of us.”

Fayose criticised what he called the militarisation of the Rivers rerun. He insisted that the military has no business in electoral matters.

He urged Buhari to sustain the legacy of free and fair elections which his administration inherited. “The military has got no business in our election. “If you watch the trend, PDP has always won all the elections after the annulment.

Which means what happened in Rivers is just a service of ego of some individuals who believe they have Nigeria in their pockets and they can call the President at will to deploy the military. “It is unfortunate that somebody would allow the military to kill his own people. “I strongly condemn the elections in Rivers and charge that we sustain he legacy of transparent elections.“For me in Ekiti, we learned from that and we are prepared.

We prepare for election every day and we are fully prepared,” he added. Fayose also said the Ekiti lawmakers currently being detained by agents of the Department of State Services had further confirmed what he described as the rascality of the agency of government.

He said it was unfortunate that the Federal Government would decide to look away and allow innocent Nigerians’ rights to be trampled upon.

President Buhari Finally Moves to Save Nigeria's Economy

As the National Economic Council begins a two-day retreat in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari has proposed ways of reinvigorating Nigeria’s wobbling economy.

The NEC is chaired by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and its membership include the 36 state governors and some Ministers and heads of relevant government agencies.

The President, who delivered the keynote address at the opening of the retreat said there is unanimity of opinion in Nigeria that the nation’s economy is in bad shape.

The president said based on the generality of opinion of Nigerians at his disposal, four key areas, namely agriculture, power, manufacturing and housing requires urgent attention to revive the economy.

He, however, said he was making no suggestions on “Education, Science and Technology pointedly because these related subjects require a whole retreat by themselves”.

He subsequently made some proposals to NEC to consider as the body seeks solution for the country’s ailing economy.

On Agriculture, Mr. Buhari said both peasant and mechanized farmers in Nigeria agree that food production and self-sufficiency require urgent government action.“For too long government policies on agriculture have been half-hearted, suffering from inconsistencies and discontinuities,”he said.

The president said what was most worrying to Nigerians with regards to Agriculture was the rising food prices, lack of visible impact of government presence on the sector, lack of agricultural inputs at affordable prices, high cost of fertilizers, pesticide as well as labour.

He also said extension services were virtually absent in several states. He identified the importation of subsidized food products such as rice and poultry and the wastage of locally grown foods, notably fruit and vegetables, which go bad due to lack of even moderate scale agro-processing factories and lack of feeder roads.

“These problems I have enumerated are by no means exhaustive and some of the solutions I am putting forward are not necessarily the final word on our agricultural reform objectives,” he said.

The president thereafter, said the Nigerian government needed to carry the public along in the new initiatives being introduced.

He said the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the States, should convene early meetings of relevant individuals and bodies to identify issues with a view to addressing them.

He also said there was need to “inform the public in all print and electronic media on government efforts to increase local food production to dampen escalating food prices”.

He also suggested that banks should be leaned upon to substantially increase their lending to the agricultural sector.“(The) Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should bear part of the risk of such loans as a matter of national policy,” he said.

Mr. Buhari advised state governments to increase their financial support through community groups. He said the appropriate approach should be through leaders of community groups such as farmers cooperatives.

He also advised the governors to provide feeder roads to enable more effective evacuation of produce to markets and processing factories.“ When I was a schoolboy in the 1950’s the country produced one million tons of groundnuts in two successive years,” Mr. Buhari recalled. “The country’s main foreign exchange earners were groundnut, cotton, cocoa, palm kernel, rubber and all agro/forest resources.“Regional Banks and Development Corporations in all the three regions were financed from farm surpluses.

In other words, our capital formation rode on the backs of our farmers. Why was farming so successful 60 years ago?”The president said that was possible because there were small scale credits to farmers, while inputs such as fertilizers and herbicides were readily available, complemented by adequate extension services.“

"Now we have better tools, better agricultural science and technology, and greater ability to process. With determination we can succeed,” he said. With regards to the Power sector, Mr. Buhari admitted that “Nigerians’ favourite talking point and butt of jokes is the power situation in our country.

But, ladies and gentlemen, it is no longer a laughing matter. We must and by the grace of God we will put things right.“In the three years left for this administration we have given ourselves the target of ten thousand megawatts distributable power.

In 2016 alone, we intend to add two tgousand megawatts to the national grid,” he said. The president said the privatisation of the power sector was yet to translate into improvement in the quality of service.

He identified common public complaints on the sector to include constant power cuts, high electricity bills despite the cuts, low supply of gas to power plants due to vandalization by ‘terrorists’, obsolete power distribution equipment and low voltage he said could not industrial machinery.

Mr. Buhari said some of the problems had defied successive governments, adding however that his administration “must and will, insha Allah, put a stop to power shortages.”He lamented that Nigeria was currently facing a dilemma of privatization which pitches public interest against profit motive.“Having started, we must complete the process.

But National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the regulatory authority, has a vital job to ensure consumers get value for money and over-all public interest is safe-guarded,” he said.He also said the government would fast-track the completion of pipelines from Gas points to power stations and provide more security to protect gas and oil pipelines.

He added that “Power companies should be encouraged to replace obsolete equipment and improve the quality of service and technicians”.In the manufacturing sector, Mr. Buhari said many manufacturing industries in the country were groaning and frustrated because of lack of foreign exchange to import raw materials and spare parts.

“Painful though this is, I believe it is a temporary phase which we shall try to overcome but there are deeper, more structural problems bedeviling local industries which this Retreat should identify short and long-term answers to,” he said.

He said NEC should look at the problems of inadequate infrastructure such as power, roads and security; high cost of borrowing money and lack of long term funding.President Buhari said the Nigerian Capital Market had not completely recover from the 2008 worldwide crisis.

He said Banks’ funding sources remained short-term in nature due to sources of the liabilities. The president also said there was need to protect workers from exploitation, adding that unions must cooperate with entrepreneurs to substantially improve productivity and quality of products if the nation is to move forward.

The president recommended that the infrastructure Development Fund should be fast-tracked to unlock resources so that infrastructural deficiencies could be addressed.

He also said there should be more fiscal incentives for Small and Medium Enterprises, SMEs, which prove themselves capable of manufacturing quality products good enough for export.“(The) Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) should create more incentives and ease credit terms for lending to manufacturers,” he saidHe also said a fresh campaign to patronize Made-in-Nigeria goods should be launched.

He suggested all uniforms in government-sponsored institutions should be sourced from local factories. As for the Housing sector, President Buhari said some estimates put Nigeria’s housing deficit at about sixteen million units.“In our successful campaign to win the general elections last year our party, the APC, promised to build a million housing units a year,” he said.

Mr. Buhari however, said that campaign promise might turn out a tall order unless government builds two hundred and fifty thousand units and the 22 APC States together manage another two hundred and fifty thousand units.

He also urged “foreign investors together with local domiciled big construction companies to enter into commercial housing building to pick up the rest”.

The President said the most frequent public concerns brought to his attention as regards the housing sector include severe shortage of housing, high rents and unaffordable prices for prospective buyers especially middle and low-income earners.“In addition, red tape, corruption and plain public service inefficiency lead to long delays in obtaining ownership of title documents.“Again, there are no long term funding sources for mortgage purposes.“These hurdles are by no means easy to scale, but we must find solutions to the housing deficit.

This Retreat might start by looking at the laws,” he said.President Buhari said the relevant laws as regards Housing should be reviewed to make the process of acquiring statutory right of occupancy shorter, less cumbersome and less costly.

He said Court procedures for mortgages cases should make enforcement more efficient.President Buhari also spoke about the health sector, lamenting that “Nigerians travel abroad, spending an estimated One Billion US Dollars annually to get medical treatment.”

“Despite huge oil revenues the nation’s health sector remains undeveloped,” he saidMr. Buhari said in attacking the challenges in the health sector the government could start with more funding for health centres to improve service delivery. He also said the World Bank and World Health Organization, WHO, could be persuaded to increase their assistance.

He also advocated the strengthening of public health propaganda in primary prevention areas to intimate Nigerians in areas such as environmental sanitation, need to stop smoking, better dieting and exercising.

He also advocated a secondary prevention inputs such as the screening and early diagnosis of diseases. He challenged NAFDAC to intensify efforts at reducing or stopping circulation of fake drugs in Nigeria, while the Ministry of Health should work closely with the Nigerian Medical Association to ensure that unqualified people are not allowed to practice.

Buhari: I'm In Dilemma Over Power Privatisation

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration is facing what he calls "the classic dilemma" over the privatisation of the power sector.

He said the privatisation of the sector had yet to show any improvement in the quality of service, saying it was difficult to determine whether it was done in public interest or with profit motive.

President Buhari, however, noted that since the privatisation of the sector had started, the process had to be completed.

Speaking at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja Monday at the commencement of a two-day National Economic Council (NEC) retreat titled: "Nigerian State:

Multi-centres of Prosperity", he said the epileptic power situation in the country was no longer a laughing matter.

The president said: "Key points to look at here are: Privatisation. We are facing the classic dilemma of privatisation: Public interest vs Profit Motive.

Having started, we must complete the process".He also disclosed that his administration had, in its remaining three, given itself the target of 10,000 megawatts "distributable power", adding that in 2016 alone, the government intended to add 2,000 megawatts to the national grid."Nigerians’ favourite talking point and butt of jokes is the power situation in our country.

"But, ladies and gentlemen, it is no longer a laughing matter. We must and by the grace of God we will put things right", he assured.

He said: "Common public complaints are "Constant power cuts destroying economic activity and affecting quality of life; high electricity bills despite power cuts; low supply of gas to power plants due to vandalization by terrorists; obsolete power distribution equipment such as transformers; power fluctuations which damage manufacturing equipment and household appliances; and low voltage which cannot run industrial machinery.

These are some of the problems which defied successive governments. In our determination to CHANGE, we must and will, insha Allah, put a stop to power shortages".

He said while the National Electricity Regulatory Commission has a vital job to ensure consumers get value for money and over-all public interest is safe-guarded; government has to fast-track completion of pipelines from gas points to power stations and provide more security to protect gas and oil pipelines

Senate Orders Contractors to Stop Work on The Road Heading to Jonathan's Home

Going  by the level of work on the 16 kilometre Otuoke Road project in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Projects, has ordered the contractor handling the project to stop work and vacate site immediately.

The Senate Committee, which was on an inspection tour of various NDDC projects in Bayelsa State, expressed anger over the poor performance of the contractor handling the road project which connects former President Goodluck Jonathan’s country home, Otuoke, with Yenagoa, the state capital.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Peter Nwaobushi, who stated this in Yenagoa, said that the contractor, after collecting N600 million mobilization for the project, reduced the scope to six kilometres, without any agreement with NDDC, yet with no appreciable work on ground to match funds so far released by the commission.

The committee also expressed displeasure with the slow pace of work at the Akenfa Canal Bridge in Yenagoa, the state capital, however, admitting that the delay was caused by the non-release of funds to the contractors.

On the hostel project located at the Niger Delta University, NDU, Amassoma, the Committee lauded the contracting firms for their work pace despite the re-design of the project to include drainages to allow easy passage of rain water.

Obasanjo Talks Tough Against Those asking Him to Account for Abacha's Loot Recovery

Former President Olusegun Obasanjohas expressed angst against those asking him toaccount for recovered Abacha loot, describing themas illiterates and silly people.

He also said there was nothing wrong in PresidentMuhammadu Buhari’s frequent trips as, accordingto him, Nigeria needs to be in touch with importantcentres of the world.

Obasanjo, who stated this in an interview, weekend, said the role of his office was to facilitate therecovery process and not how it was put to use.He said: “They said the money recovered fromAbacha, I should account for it.

What stupidity! Theman who asked for it, the man who gave thejudgement or who answered them are all silly, with due respect.“I don’t keep account, all Abacha loots were sent toCentral Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and every bit of it wasreported to Minister of Finance.

My job was to write where we can get help to recover the money."Every penny that comes out of it went to CBN, so if they want to know what happened to the money, they should call CBN governor or call the Minister of Finance.“But again, it shows ignorance, total ignorance, which is lacking and you wonder, are these people educated?

"They can also approach the man who helped us in recovering process to give the list of money recovered and where he took it.”

On fluctuating oil price, Obasanjo said President Buhari was lucky than he was, saying: “When I assumed office in 1999, I inherited $3.7 billion in reserve, while Buhari met $30 billion, almost 10times of what I met then, and the price of oil then was $9. When it got to $20, I was dancing.

“I know the price is down now and with time, it will jump up again. What Buhari is doing currently is preparing ground for Nigeria to take advantage when it goes up again.”

Justifies Buhari's frequent foreign trips Obasanjo, who justified Buhari's frequent foreign trips, said President Buhari needed to get involved in the world.

He said: “He needs to be known and to know people. How do you make friends and influence people except you know them and this cannot happen if he sits in Aso Villa, especially in a situation that we found ourselves, a situation where we have bad image in the world, a situation wherewe need to play leadership role, especially in Africa, because during Jonathan’s administration, Nigeria was not on the table.”

On Biafra agitation Obasanjo, who described the Biafra agitation as a platform for people of the South East to make their voices heard, insisted that Biafra was dead.

He said: “I sympathise with people agitating in the country, but what Nigeria needs to do now is to get our economy back on track. When you have a bad economic situation, such is expected.

So I did not see their cause as a threat but I see it as a platform to get their voices heard.“Like I said on January 15, the important, authentic leaders of the South-East are concerned about economic situation of Nigeria and I believe when the situation changes tomorrow, these young people will sing a new song.”

No regret putting Jonathan forward as President While expressing no regrets in facilitating the emergence of former President Goodluck Jonathanas President, Obasanjo said his objective had been achieved by making a minority group to produce the president of Nigeria.

He said: “I believe that Nigeria politics will be strengthened even more if we have the opportunity to allow the minority in its own right to emerge as President, and I do not have any apology for anybody because the purpose I wanted Nigeria to achieve had been achieved.“

"That any Nigerian can become president, it is not a regret for Nigeria and for me because Nigeria gave him that opportunity, he used, abused, misused as he wished and at the appropriate time, Nigerians said thank you for what you have done and what you have not done and Nigeria said bye bye, which is the beauty of democracy.”

CBN Recruitment Scam, A Grand Betrayal Of Change Mantra - Caleb Ayansina

The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), a coalition of over 400 civil society organizations, weekend, discribed the recent shady recruitment exercise conducted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a grand betrayal of a change mantra of the Buhari’s administration.

The Chairman of TMG, Com. Ibrahim Zikirulahi said in a statement in Abuja that the sam is a clear manifestation that vestiges of the discredited and corrupt old guard still dominated the system in the country.

Consequently, the group called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fish out the perpectrators and punish them according to the law of the land, adding that the reasons given by the apex bank to embark on secret recruitment exercise was not acceptable.

The statement reads: “TMG is dismayed by recent revelations of outright cronyism and favouritism in a shady recruitment exercise conducted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)."

"It is indeed very strange that impunity of this magnitude would be associated with the nation’s apex bank at a time Nigerians are hoping that the change mantra of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, would translate into better ethical standards for conducting government business.“

TMG is not unmindful of the fact that this scandal is a clear manifestation that there remains within the system vestiges of the discredited and corrupt old guard, which would always be against a people centred philosophy of governance.

For us, the recruitment scandal points to a culture of lax corporate governance, which has seen the CBN under the leadership of Godwin Emefiele canonize itself as a do-nothing institution in the face of criminal assaults on due process.

“The CBN which has elected to sacrifice openness, merit and fairness in its recruitment is the same institution, which silently conspired with looters and plunderers of the nation’s financial resources, during the locust years of the last administration.“

TMG is amazed that the current government has not deemed it a matter of utmost urgency to halt the desecration of an institution as vital as the CBN.

On the basis of the litany of sleazes that were made possible by the acquiescence of the current CBN leadership alone, it is crystal clear that a clean sweep of leadership at the apex bank, is long overdue.“TMG is unimpressed by the lame excuse the CBN spin doctors are adducing for deciding to embark on a secret recruitment drive. Even if ‘targeted’ employment or head hunting was the basis for making the process secret, there are thousands of young Nigerians who need jobs, who could have been targeted.

But because the CBN was working towards a pre-determined outcome, it filled the list with names of children and relatives of prominent politicians, government officials and other influence peddlers.

“We insist this is not the proper way to do things; the outcome of the recruitment must therefore be immediately jettisoned“

TMG calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene and put an end to the attempts by well-heeled people in government to rubbish his efforts at rescuing Nigeria from the abyss of corruption, nepotism and favouritism.“There must be equal opportunities for all Nigerians.”

P-square Saga: Peter Exposes His Brothers

THENETNG spent some time with him in his Lekki-home on Thursday, March 17, having been invited by his new manager, Olatunde Michaels of Play Centre. When we arrive, he’s sitting in the living room, with a young assistant keeping him company.

He’s dressed casually, in a patterned T-shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans.‘How now’?‘I’m okay man.

Long long time.’We hugged briefly as I sat next to him.But something is wrong.Peter and Paul, who live just a building apart, rarely set eyes on one another.

They’re no longer the inseparable duo everyone loves to love. They haven’t performed together since December 28, 2015.

In fact, they’ve only seen each other a couple of times since then, in rather hostile circumstances, Peter tells Nigerian Entertainment Today.

After years of dealing with family issues and trying to solve their differences, they’re now dishing out dirty details on social media, using their very own hands to drag a brand they’ve built over nearly two decades through the mud.‘I and Paul stay together in this estate and the last time I saw him was about a week ago.’But you live in the same premises.

Why is this so?

‘Truth is, I’ve not been in talking terms with Paul since December 2015 and that was why I travelled in January because I had a lot on my mind.

Something happened at Mavin Studios last year that broke my heart. Now listen to this, Psquare featured on songs with J-Martins, Bracket, LKT, 9ice and these 4 songs were done by Paul alone, but guess what, did I appear in the videos, YES’.

‘Now hear this, we have other collabos with Kaha, Darey, Ruggedman. I did these songs alone.

How come they don’t have videos?

Paul refused to appear in the videos.’‘So I told Paul that when next he does a collabo alone, he should be in the video alone, because it got to a point where artistes began to feel if they did a collabo with Paul it [would] get a video, but if it was me, it [wouldn’t] get a video.

The last collabo we did was with Flavour and I refused to do another one. Even Flavour had to speak all the Igbo he knows to convince me before I agreed to do it.

Only for my brother to come and tell me that ‘shey I thought you said you won’t appear in any video that I did the collabo alone? Why did you appear on this one?’. I was sad but I knew another one will come’.

‘So Tiwa Savage called me; apparently Paul had done a song with her – not the campaign song they are promoting now, another Psquare collabo entirely.

So she [said] she’s been trying to reach Paul to get the CD of the song from him [because] he’s already done his part, so I went to Paul’s house to help ask for it and tell him I want to go to the studio to do my verse and he said he doesn’t know where the CD is.’

‘I went to the Mavin studio to meet Tiwa. When I got there, she asked for the CD and I told her Paul didn’t give me any CD, so I called him again and gave the phone to Tiwa and [he] told her on phone that the CD is at Omole, so I got into the studio, recorded my verse and when I finished, everybody was clapping.

I was surprised to realize that Paul had [told] them that I don’t sing or write songs.’‘I felt really bad and betrayed, but I covered up for him.

I jokingly asked Teebillz if they gave him Red Label and he said yes, so I was like you guys caused it, and we laughed over it.

So when my assistant went to pick up the CD, Paul and Jude started shouting at him to ‘ask Peter what is he doing at the Mavin studio? He knows how we work.’

The next day, I went to Paul and told him how I felt when I heard what he said. Only for Jude to say that he made Paul the lead singer of Psquare 8 years ago!

A leader leads, he doesn’t destroy.’‘When it came to decision-making, it was always a Triangle formation, and the highest vote wins.

‘I’ll give you an instance’.‘We had to go perform somewhere once, and because I had a slight argument with Paul, he said he wasn’t going.

It was the wedding of the President’s daughter. When I got to the airport my brother wasn’t there, and I [didn’t know] how I was going to explain to the President that we [couldn’t] perform.

I made up my mind to go with the band, perform like that and lie that my brother was sick. So we left for Abuja, and when we got to the hotel, my assistant manager called [to say] he was on the way to the airport with Paul, so we had to wait for them to land in Abuja and that was why we couldn’t make it on time to the reception.’

‘The president was mad. In fact, Mama Peace (Patience Jonathan) was really mad. But we eventually made up for it with a performance at the Gala night.

Only for Jude to [tell me that] Paul said he wasn’t going for a show and I still went [without him].

Imagine if Jude had a proper structure and we had contracts? That wouldn’t happen. And it was more because the show came through me.

If the show came through Jude, it wouldn’t have happened. I don’t have a problem with doing things as a family, but structure and proper organization is important too.

The name Psquare is very big outside but inside we have no structure. I see people like Audu of Chocolate City, Mavin Records, even Ubi Franklin, and I wanted us to have a structure like that.

Psquare is just up there because of the grace of God.’

You’ve said a lot about Jude being the problem, and how you’re the minority. But, really, as Peter, what do you bring to the table?

‘It’s really sad that people have labeled me ‘Dancer’ and they don’t really know what I do for Psquare.

Kudos to Paul, I’m not a good songwriter; in fact, I’ll rate myself 30%, so when it comes to song writing, I give it to Paul 100%.‘However, not writing songs does not disqualify you from being a musician.

I can tell you for free that a Nigerian wrote two of the songs on Rihanna’s new album.

I’ve travelled a lot and most times people ask, ‘which one are you, the singer or the dancer’? And it’s really sad.’‘In Psquare, I am the creative person, I can sit-down and tell you what people want to hear, what they want to see and what they want to learn from Psquare.

But it’s not something to brag about.’‘Jude directs all our videos.’‘This whole thing began when Paul went online and started posting lyrics of most of our songs on Instagram [and saying]that he wrote them all, just because Peter brought in something to the table.

I had been trying to bring more business for Psquare. I didn’t know it was going to cause problems. I sent my manager to a meeting in Senegal to meet with Universal music about getting us deals, and when he came back, the way they responded to him wasn’t encouraging.’‘So I had to send Diouf (the footballer) to help get the documents and convince my brothers before we could pull through with the deal.

After some months, we started making money. Meanwhile, while filling the forms, Jude filled everything as Psquare. So the first payment came and we shared it. The second payment was bigger, and we shared it too. That was when Paul said we had to re-fill the form and give proper credit to the songwriter (Himself) and said if the form wasn’t brought back, he would expose me and tell the world that he writes all the songs.

The next day he went online to post those lyrics. So my question is, when he was doing that what did Jude do about it? Absolutely nothing!

’PAUL IS WEAK‘I remember I once told Paul something when Jude became our manager; he was using the term ‘Our Money,’ that was when we made our first 1 million [naira].

I called Paul and told him that our former manager used to make about 15%, and now that Jude is our manager, let’s think of a percentage that we’ll be giving him and put it on paper.

Paul said it’s not necessary. He probably went to tell Jude about it. I’m sorry to say this, but I think Paul is weak.’‘You know they say change is constant, you can’t stay in one spot.

As the industry moves, you move. So I won’t say the problem we have is money. I think everybody is just dragging power unnecessarily. Imagine Jude telling me that he’s in charge of Psquare and there’s nothing Peter and Paul can do about it, and I look at Paul and he’s quiet about it.

I’ve never seen where a manager talks to his artistes anyhow. If there’s an issue you should call us aside quietly to talk about it.’WHY I CALLED OUT JUDE ON SOCIAL MEDIA‘On December 14, 2015, we sat down to have a meeting hoping to set a proper structure in place, but Paul noticed that it wasn’t working the way he wanted, so he said he’s starting a new group.

I thought he meant he wanted to start a record label, and he was like no, he’s starting a new group that he belongs to. And Jude simply said, ‘anybody stop you?’ He picked up his phones and walked out of the meeting. I felt it had already been discussed behind me.

I later found out that Paul was already recruiting for the group and Jude is their manager. At the moment I hear they are called ‘The MVPs’ I don’t know what it means yet.’‘So how do you expect me to be managed by the same person we’ve been having issues with, who is now the manager of the other group? There’ll surely be conflict of interest.’‘[Recently] Jude called me, after I had said he was fired.

He called me on a Thursday to say ‘Hope you know we are going to the embassy tomorrow for that show in Holland.’ I know about the show, [because] it was already booked before the issues started, so I told him, ‘Bro you are not my manager, talk to my manager.’ He said, ‘Noted.’ The next day, they went to the embassy with the new group members, which means they had already set up their interviews at the embassy because it’s not possible to get an appointment in less than 24 hours.

I traced the organisers and told them Jude represents only Paul. I told them this is what it takes to get Peter and Paul, Peter alone or Paul alone.’‘So I went on social media to protect our careers, because if I didn’t do that, Psquare will not release any material anytime soon, they’ll be busy promoting their artistes.’‘And I remember going to talk to Paul about it before I went on social media.

I went to his house, and he was in his room with his friend, [whom I asked to excuse us, but] Paul said, no, his friend should stay, [and that] anything I want to say should be said in front of him. So I said, no, you know we are brothers and he was like, ‘oh, na now you know say we be brothers.’

I told him I came to talk to him about what’s been happening, but it was turning into an argument so I left and I travelled out. I was away for over a month, knowing that we didn’t have any shows at that time. I went to Turkey and London to rest my mind, my friend Samuel Eto’o invited me to come.’Peter and Eto'o2HOW I FIRED JUDE‘The day I fired Jude was at a concert.

The day I came back, we had a show, so I went straight to the venue in Lagos and told Jude I want to talk to him, and he said I should say anything I want to say in front of everyone, [which] was the same attitude Paul gave me before I travelled. So Jude said if I like, I should get out, and I said ‘guy don’t embarrass me.’

He said who are you, because you think you are Psquare? So I told him openly that if he cannot resolve me and Paul’s issue, he doesn’t deserve to be our manager, and he said I should get out. There and then I told him ‘You are fired’! He looked at me and said, ‘You fit fire me?’

That was when I entered my car and started tweeting. How else can you take him out?’‘[In fact,] long before I made up my mind, Paul had already said there’s no more Psquare, [and that] if Jude leaves, he goes with him.'‘Before I announced my management, I wanted my mind to be clear, so I went back to Paul, this time we were alone and we [discussed things]; I told him I had no issues with him, but he needs to stop letting Jude use him as a shield.

Both of us started shedding tears, and when we finished he still said he hopes I’m not here to tell him that I still want Psquare, and I told him I want to move on, because he already has a manager (Jude) and I don’t, so I had to structure myself too. And I didn’t want to allow the Psquare name to fade before moving on. Look at Don Jazzy and Dbanj, when they broke up, they waited for like 6 months and had to start again.

Now, that Psquare just broke up, let me use the name to move on quickly, because there’s no time.’IF OUR MUM WAS STILL ALIVE‘To be honest with you, I feel if our mum was still alive, we would have pushed her to her grave with this whole thing. It’s really sad that even with everything going on, I still stand with Paul.’SIGNING SOLO DEALS‘It still boils down to the fact that Psquare was not structured.

Music is like football, Messi has his manager, Neymar has his manager, Suarez has his manager, but when they get to the pitch, they play as a team’.‘Before I did the Olympic deal, I’d brought some deals for Psquare. The people endorsing Psquare only see Peter and Paul, but behind [the scenes] its Peter, Paul and Jude so the price goes so high that it never works.’

‘But when a deal comes to my table, it’s not like they called Jude and I went behind to talk to them, the deal came directly to me from Jude’s friend. He called me and told me about it, and before then I had already established my own beverage factory and the deal coming was from PZ, which means I could do more business with them, so should I lose that deal because they didn’t call Jude?’‘I asked them why me and not Psquare, and they said they couldn’t afford Psquare, and the brand was tailored to fit one person.

So I went back to tell Paul and Jude and they didn’t say anything. They didn’t ask me not to do it. Don’t get it wrong, we’ve been doing different private businesses, the only difference was that the Olympic deal came out in public. I’ve been doing mass housing projects on my own, Paul has been doing real estate, Jude has been doing his own thing, he even [set up the] Northside record label, so it’s not like it’s the first thing I’m doing alone.

It’s just the first one that went public.’‘So even when I decide to open my beverage factory, people will still ask why I am doing it alone without my brother.’

THE NEXT LEVEL‘Because I announced new management, people feel I’m the one going solo, but Paul has already gone solo. He’s moved on and didn’t need to announce any new management because he still works with Jude, so I had to announce mine and believe it or not, people are booking me for gigs already.’‘And guess what, I’ll still perform Psquare songs, nobody can stop me, nobody can stop Paul too, we didn’t have a contract with Jude, so I have the right to perform Psquare songs especially the ones I took part in’.‘I’ll also consider releasing solo songs and even albums.

Truth is – in the last album Paul did some songs alone, I did some songs alone. ‘Bring It On’ was Paul alone, ‘Eje Ajo’, ‘Shekini’ was done by me alone’.‘Remember the 4 songs ‘Free For Fans’ that we released, those songs were removed from the last album and I leaked them’.‘I have some songwriters already, V-Tek writes for me, and I’m still bringing up more’.

‘Because of what was happening, it was like two against one, so I said let’s share our properties. When I said that, Paul said if we want to share our properties, Jude must get the same share with us otherwise Psquare will split and I was like ‘SPLIT-AGAIN?’‘Our lawyer came and told Paul that it’s wrong to share it equally with Jude, but he insisted, so we divided every property we owned in Lagos, Jos, America, Abuja.

In-fact the right and left wing of the Square Ville mansion belongs to Paul and Jude now.So that was how we shared all our properties equally among the three of us about two or three years ago.’‘After sharing everything, I called Paul again and spoke to him about a proper structure.

We’ve been with people like Akon and co and we see how it’s done. Right now, Psquare has millions of dollars in royalties hanging in the air.’‘All our endorsement and shows are shared equally between the three of us as well.’‘After what it took to share our properties, I was embarking on a project, so I needed more money and I wanted to sell my house in America and buy something smaller, because I spend close to $30,000 to maintain that condo every year.’

‘So I called my caretaker to begin the process and she told Jude and Paul to send their data page and passport photographs, but they refused because they know I wanted to the sell the house. And see the value of dollars now. The house was valued at 100M then, but if I sell it now, I could make extra 250M.’‘And we already signed paper works and document of the house that it belongs to me but Jude ignored it, so I called our lawyer, Festus Keyamo to inform him about the development.

He called them and they both refused to pick his call, so he sent them a text and requested that we should have a meeting, but Jude replied him and said no need for a meeting that the America house will be sold.’‘Paul said we agreed and signed on how to share but we haven’t really shared it yet, after all Jude is still holding on to the documents.’

‘Three of us have properties close to each other in Parkview and that’s why I want to sell my own and move to Banana Island.’‘I can’t really understand why they don’t want a structure, to me I think it’s ignorance, and if I decide to do it, it’ll seem like I’m looking for trouble.’Jude, who dissociated himself from Psquare in a social media post on Thursday, hours after our interview with Peter, declined commenting for this story.

He told our correspondent ‘I’m sorry I can’t talk about it.’MY WIFE AND MY MUM‘People think we changed when we started having wives. Before my mum died, she was at St Nicholas hospital on the island, and my sisters were living in this house (in Lekki), and every morning before my wife goes to work, she’ll leave home at 5am in the morning to go and stay with my mum even before we get there ourselves.

And when she closes from work, she’s back with her again.’‘So I just laugh when I hear people say my mum didn’t like my wife. It’s my wife and sister that prepare my mum’s meals in the kitchen.’‘Now let me shock you: our wives, the three of them are the closest set of people you can imagine. Even with all that’s going on. It’s really surprising.

Somehow, they respect themselves and stayed out of the whole drama and I respect them a lot. And that’s somehow what has kept us together for this long, otherwise Psquare would have ended like two or three years back.’
